Saturday’s Youth Alliance League game against Rotherham United will now take place at The Millers’ Roundwood Sports Complex after bad weather made Blackhall’s Welfare Park unplayable.
Heavy rain has left the playing surface in Blackhall waterlogged, so Rotherham have agreed to switch the fixture to their base to allow it to go ahead.
John Hewitson’s sixth-placed youngsters will be looking to bounce back from their disappointing home defeat to Scunthorpe United las time out against a Millers’ side who sit ninth in the table.
“We didn’t play badly against Scunthorpe but we have to learn to take our chances,” Hewitson explained.
“If we create as many goalscoring opportunities this weekend then I am confident we’ll put more of them away and go on and win the game.
“The lads have trained well this week and they’re looking forward to getting out there and putting on a performance which can hopefully kick us on to another good run of form.”
We’ll have a full report on the game here on the Official Website on Monday morning.
