9 November 2015

Pools have been drawn to play away at Salford City in the Second Round of the FA Cup.

Ronnie Moore’s men made it through to the next phase of the competition after Kudus Oyenuga’s goal was enough to give them a 1-0 win over Cheltenham Town in Round One.

It will the be the first time the two sides have ever met in competitive action and will offer the chance for former Pools star James Poole to play against the club for whom he made 113 appearances and scored 16 goals between 2010 and 2014.

Salford play their games at Moor Lane and are managed jointly by Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley, under whose guidance they currently lie fourth in the Northern Premier League Premier Division.

The club are co-owned by former Manchester United greats Gary and Phil Neville, Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs and Nicky Butt, and recently came to the nation's attention in a two-part documentary broadcast on BBC One.

They made it through to Round Two after pulling off a First Round shock by beating Pools' League Two rivals Notts County 2-0 in a televised game at Moor Lane on Friday night.

Second Round ties are due to be played over the weekend of 4th to 7th December.
