Ronnie Moore has hailed Accrington Stanley’s management team for their brilliant work but is determined to bring three points home from The Crown Ground on Tuesday night.
Pools travel to face an in-form Stanley outfit who have emerged as one of the dark horses for promotion this term as an incredible start to the season has seen them climb to fourth.
Boss Moore is a big fan of John Coleman and Jimmy Bell on a personal and professional level, but admitted he’s hoping to put the skids under their progress on Tuesday.
“They’ve done a fantastic job there, not just this season but over a number of years,” he explained.
“John and Jimmy deserve a lot of credit because it’s an amazing job given the budge they have and this season they have excelled themselves so it’s going to be a really tough game.
“It’s their work ethic that is the stand out thing; you wouldn’t say they have big stars but as a team they know what they’re doing, they’re organised and they play good football, they won’t just launch it.
“But we have to go there and be positive; on Saturday I felt like we went in to our shell in the second half so we need to go out tonight and show no fear.”
Moore has revealed that he is likely to make alterations to his starting eleven for the trip to The Crown Ground after learning plenty about his squad in weekend defeat to Mansfield.
“There’ll be one or two changes, there’s no doubt about that.
“Sometimes you have your eyes opened by things that happened on Saturday but it’s alright being wise after the event.
“If we can go there tonight, put on a performance and get ourselves the win then it will set us up nicely for another game against a team inside the top five on Saturday.”
