Ronnie Moore has completed his second signing of the day with the acquisition of Kal Naismith on a loan deal from Portsmouth.
The 23-year-old winger joined Pompey in the summer after a highly successful two-year spell at Accrington Stanley, during which he scored 14 goals in 73 appearances.
A product of the Rangers youth system, Naismith made his debut for the Ibrox giants in July 2012 and went on to make 21 appearances before agreeing a switch to Accrington in 2013.
The 6ft 1ins former Scotland youth international has been limited to only six outings for Portsmouth this term and Moore moved to offer him the chance of more regular football at The Vic.
Naismith will now link-up with his new team-mates in training on Saturday morning before going straight in to contention for Sunday’s televised game against Leyton Orient.
“Kal has a fantastic left foot but he’s one of those who is comfortable playing on the left or the right or even through the middle if we need him to,” Moore explained.
“He’s a good size, has good quality from set-pieces and will score you a goal as well so he certainly adds something to the squad and we’re delighted to bring him in.”
Naismith has been handed squad number 33 and his loan deal will see him remain at The Vic until 3rd January.
