Reserves Target Third Win In A Row

25 March 2015

Sam Collins has challenged the Reserves to follow in the footsteps of the First Team by securing a third successive victory when they travel to Scunthorpe United on Wednesday (2pm kick-off).

The Reserves enjoyed an 8-0 triumph over a young Mansfield Town side last month before winning 1-0 last time out against Gateshead on home soil – now Collins wants them to take that form on the road.

“The last two performances have been a lot better and we need to keep that going,” the Assistant Manager explained.

“There are some experienced players in our line-up who need a game and we’ve got some young players in there who require games like this as part of their development.

“We need to try and replicate what’s happening in the First Team so we’ll try the 3-5-2 formation, which will be a good experience for the young players too so we’re looking forward to it.”

Collins has included Sunderland youngster Jassem Sukar in the starting line-up, while Chris Lester will also play after joining the Club on trial from Bolton Wanderers.

Tommy Miller will be given another chance to press his claims for a recall, while Marvin Morgan is set to start up front in the game at Glanford Park.

We’ll have a full report on the Final Third Development League fixture here on the Official Website following the final whistle.
