David Mirfin has extended his loan deal at Victoria Park and will now remain with Pools until the end of the current campaign.
The defender joined the Club on loan from Scunthorpe United at the start of February and has played in all six games since then.
Boss Ronnie Moore was keen to keep the centre-back at The Vic for a longer period and now a deal has been reached with his parent club for him to stay until May.
“We’re delighted to get it done because he’s been a good addition for us,” said Moore.
“He’s got good experience and has certainly helped Scott Harrison alongside him as well as acting as a good example for our other young defenders.”
Pools’ recent game against Stevenage was the experienced Mirfin’s 400th career appearance.
