Ronnie Moore has revealed that he will be working hard to bring another striker in to the Club after Cambridge United recalled Ryan Bird from his loan spell at Victoria Park.
Bird played six times during his month on loan with Pools, scoring in the Club’s crucial victories over AFC Wimbledon and Oxford United.
However, Cambridge – who visit The Vic in League Two on Saturday – have now decided to take the front man back after the loan deal expired at the weekend.
Now Moore is hoping to be able to bolster his attacking options with another loan signing and says he’s already come up with a shortlist of targets.
“They’ve got a couple of injuries down there now so they’ve decided to call him back,” the Pools boss told us.
“We’re disappointed but we have to thank Cambridge for allowing him to come here and we’ve enjoyed having him in the squad.
“Finding a striker is hard but we have three or four names on the list so it’s about getting around to watch some games and work to see what we could do.
“We have until Thursday to get someone in and the Chairman has been great in backing us to try and do it.”
