Ronnie Moore has completed his fifth signing of the summer after Jake Carroll flew in from Ireland to agree a deal with Pools on Friday.
The 23-year-old left-back was released by Huddersfield Town at the end of the 2014/15 campaign following a two-year stint with The Terriers.
Although born in London, Carroll was brought up near Dublin where he made his name with St Patrick’s Athletic for whom he gained experience in the Europa League in 2012.
His form was rewarded when it was announced he was to sign for Huddersfield in April 2013 after the West Yorkshire club paid an undisclosed fee for his services.
Carroll built upon his senior experience with a loan spell at Bury in February 2014, scoring his first goal in English football in The Shakers’ 4-1 win over Mansfield Town.
He was on the move again at the beginning of last season when he moved north of the border on loan to SPL outfit Partick Thistle where he made thirteen appearances before injury forced his return to Huddersfield.
Carroll – who can also operate in midfield – will sign for the Club subject to the necessary Football League clearance.
