We take a look through the stand-out dates as the fixtures for the 2015/16 campaign are unveiled for the first time.
It will be only the second time in seven seasons that Pools have kicked-off the new term at The Vic – the last occasion was back in 2012/13.
It’s perhaps no surprise to learn that Pools will be on the road on the final day – and for the second time in three seasons we will round-off the campaign with a trip to Plymouth Argyle.
Astonishingly, the fixture at Plymouth means that Pools have been away from home on the last day on eight of the last eleven occasions.
There’s an early derby day to look forward to because Pools fans will be off to Bootham Crescent in their numbers for the second league game on Saturday 15th August.
Newport County at home follows on Tuesday 18th August before Pools’ first long trip of the campaign takes them to Stevenage on Saturday 22nd August.
Christmas is a busy period as usual with Pools hosting Plymouth on Saturday 19th December and Notts County on Boxing Day before heading to Carlisle United on Monday 28th December and Newport County on Saturday 2nd January 2016.
Unbelievably, that game against Notts County will be the first time Pools have been on home soil on Boxing Day since back in 2008!
At Easter Pools are scheduled to host AFC Wimbledon on Saturday 26th March, while we will make the trip to Leyton Orient on Easter Monday.
Ronnie Moore’s men face the journey to both promoted sides Bristol Rovers and Barnet within a week at the start of March – going to Bristol on Tuesday 1st and Barnet on Saturday 5th.
