Woods To Start In Gateshead Friendly

25 July 2015

Michael Woods is handed a first start since recovering from injury in Saturday’s pre-season friendly outing at Gateshead on Saturday afternoon (3pm kick-off).

The midfielder has been out of action since the end of February when he dislocated his ankle and fractured his fibula during the League Two win over AFC Wimbledon.

However, after returning to fitness well ahead of schedule, the midfielder came off the bench in Tuesday’s friendly against Scunthorpe United and will now be in the start eleven at Gateshead.

Trialist Alex Whittle is given another chance to impress against The Tynesiders after catching the eye during a second half substitute appearance in midweek, while former Leeds United man Zac Thompson is included on the bench.

Admission is £10 for Adults, £5 for Concessions and £3 for Under 16s with tickets available on the turnstiles at The International Stadium prior to kick-off.

We’ll have a full report and reaction from the game here on the Official Website following the final whistle.
