Pools keeper insists the squad are making the most of lessons learned in pre-season.
While the result may not have gone Pools’ way on Tuesday night at The Vic, keeper Trevor Carson remained in pragmatic mood as he insisted the loss was all part of the pre-season learning curve,
“It is better to get the mistakes out of the way now as we have got the time to sit down and talk about them and learn from them.
“It is what pre-season is for, to get the cobwebs blown away and I think we all have something to work on from that game.
“I spoke to Caigy (Tony Caig) the Goalkeeping Coach after the game and like he said, the positive column is better than the negative column. There are a few things we need to work on of course but there are positives to take and I’m sure a lot of the players will be the same.”
With ten new players arriving at The Vic this summer, Carson admits it will take time for them all to settle in on the field but team spirit is good off the pitch,
“It’s a shame because team spirit is great and we had another good following so it would have been nice to keep that run going but we’ll learn from it.
“We’re going to take time to bed in and every one of us has something we need to work on but that’s what we’re going to do.”
