Ronnie Moore has challenged his players to maintain their standards from last weekend when they host Plymouth Argyle on Saturday in what the Pools boss knows is a big game for both clubs.
Pools were in impressive form during the 1-1 draw at Tranmere Rovers last Saturday and were unlucky not to come away from Prenton Park with all three points.
Meanwhile, promotion-chasing Argyle also drew 1-1 with Morecambe last time out as John Sheridan’s men dropped to tenth on the back of a sixth game without a victory.
However, Moore knows his opposite number well enough to know that this weekend’s game will be a tough one for Pools and is hoping they can hit top form in front of their own supporters.
“I know Shez (John Sheridan) really well, he’s a good mate of mine,” Moore explained when talking to Pools Player.
“I think two or three of their loans have been called back and it’s left them a little short at this moment in time but they’re only a few points outside the play-offs so it’s a massive game for them.
“But it’s also massive for us because we need to start winning game now; we got a really good point on Saturday at Tranmere but home games are going to be important for us.
“I think five of our next eight games are at The Vic now so we have to make the most of that and make sure we’re picking up maximum points.
“The noise the fans made at Tranmere was incredible and now we have to give them something to sing about at home this weekend.”
