Middlesbrough are in action at Victoria Park tonight as they host Derby County in the Barclays Under 21 Premier League.
Boro go into this evening’s game at Victoria Park on the back of a 5-1 defeat to Stoke City, but The Teessiders have won 10 out of 15 this season so will be looking to bounce back against a Derby County side who are just two points behind them in the table.
The Rams started 2015 well with a win against Sunderland in the League Cup last week, winning 4-3 on penalties after the game ended 0-0. County are unbeaten in seven and have yet to taste defeat on home soil this term.
Derby beat Middlesbrough 2-1 in the reverse fixture in August in front of 544 supporters when Middlesbrough gave away a penalty after only 27 seconds. Derby doubled their advantage after 32 minutes before Middlesbrough pulled a goal back on 73 minutes through former Pools loan striker Charlie Wyke.
Before the thrashing by Stoke, both teams had been unbeaten since October and Middlesbrough had also had won both of their last two matches played at The Vic. If they can get their eleventh win of the season tonight it could send them back to the top of the league.
Wyke and Ryan Brobbel both played on loan for Pools this season and both are likely to start for Middlesbrough tonight.
The tickets are on sale at the turnstiles and adult pay £3 while concessions are £1.
