Plymouth Argyle striker Marvin Morgan has joined Pools on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Ronnie Moore has been tracking the front man for the last few weeks and made the near 800-mile round trip to watch him score twice for Argyle’s Reserve side last Tuesday.
Having begun his career with non-league outfit Wealdstone, Morgan has gone on to play key roles in promotion campaigns for Aldershot Town and Shrewsbury Town before joining Argyle in 2013.
Pools’ need to add extra firepower was heightened with the news that Mansfield Town had recalled Rakish Bingham so Moore was pleased to get his business done on the Morgan deal.
And the Manchester-born hitman turned down the approaches of clubs in England and Scotland to sign-up for Pools’ battle for survival at the bottom of League Two.
The 31-year-old trained with his new team-mates in Durham on Monday morning and will now go straight in to contention for Saturday’s trip to Portsmouth.
