Ronnie Moore has moved to strengthen his attacking options with the arrival of striker Ryan Bird on a one-month loan deal from Cambridge United.
The 27-year-old front man joined The U’s from Portsmouth in September after enjoying a successful loan spell at The Abbey Stadium last term during which he scored four goals in nine appearances.
Bird began his career with non-league Burnham where he progressed through their Academy and went on to score almost 300 goals, including 45 in 45 games during the 2012/13 campaign.
The 6ft 4ins forward has four goals to his name so far this term but has fallen down the pecking order at Cambridge following the arrival of Matt Harrold on loan earlier this week.
Pools boss Moore has been keen to add further firepower since losing Rakish Bingham, who was recalled to Mansfield Town after a month on loan at The Vic.
Bird has been handed squad number 35 and will go straight in to the squad for Saturday’s League Two game against AFC Wimbledon, subject to Football League approval.
