Ronnie Moore has been dealt a double blow with the news that Matthew Bates and Scott Fenwick are both set for spells on the sidelines through injury.
Fenwick has been struggling with an ankle problem since the away game at Tranmere Rovers last month and, after undergoing an MRI scan, the striker has been advised to let the injury settle.
He has now been placed in a ‘moon boot’ which will give extra protection to the problem while he rests for a minimum of four weeks during which Club medical staff will monitor him daily.
Meanwhile, Bates was taken to see a consultant after the serious dead leg he sustained in the game at Portsmouth in January failed to settle down as quickly as had been expected.
Tests showed there was a very deep bleed in his left leg and the consultant has advised that he should rest the injury for a minimum of six weeks.
