Ronnie Moore has admitted that Matthew Bates and Scott Fenwick are both facing a race to be fit in time to face Stevenage at Victoria Park on Saturday.
The duo were both forced to sit out Tuesday evening’s crucial 1-0 victory over Northampton Town through injury and the Pools boss revealed that he is still unsure whether they will return to contention for Saturday.
Fenwick is nursing an ankle problem and will receive further treatment in the coming days, as will Bates who hobbled out of Saturday’s game at Portsmouth with a dead leg.
“Scott’s hurt his ankle and he’s got to be a doubt for Saturday,” said Moore.
“Batesy had a lot of swelling after his knock on Saturday so we don’t know about him either – it’s just going to be a case of wait and see over both of them for the weekend now.”
