We Won't Go Crackers At Christmas - Boss

22 December 2015

Ronnie Moore has told his squad they can expect it to be business as usual this week as Pools prepare for the Boxing Day visit of Notts County.

The Pools boss has revealed that the players will train on Christmas Day and can expect the schedule to be very similar to that of a normal week despite the festive celebrations.

It’s the first time the Club will have been on home soil on Boxing Day since way back in 2007 and Moore is determined to make sure that the players make the most of it.

“It will just be like a normal week for us,” he told Pools PlayerHD.

“The lads will be in early on Christmas morning just to do a little bit and make sure we’re prepared for the big game that’s coming up on Boxing Day.

“Nothing changes; it’s all about trying to get that win so we have to do things right and it’s not that hard for the players to come in on Christmas morning – the ones with kids will be up early anyway!

“A lot of them have been in the game a long time so it’s not hard to give up that time – we only have the one game over Christmas this year so we can put all our eggs in one basket and go all-out for the performance we want on Saturday.

“You trust the players will do the right things and make sure they eat right over Christmas – I am not against them having some fun, just as long as they don’t go crackers!”
