Ronnie Moore paid tribute to the performance of Salford City after the non-league outfit made Pools work hard for a place in Round Three of the FA Cup.
Extra time goals from Scott Fenwick and Mikael Mandron did the damage to set-up a home tie against Championship outfit Derby County in the New Year.
“It’s no good for my health when you look at that,” he told Pools PlayerHD.
“Salford played brilliantly and the two lads can be proud of their side really; I think they will be gutted they haven’t won the game because it took us 45 minutes to get going.
“All the crowd want to see is someone lighting the blue touch paper but we looked so nervous and you can see a few of them are a bit low on confidence.
“We should be doing better than that; no disrespect to Salford City but we need to express ourselves and perform to the manner I know we can do.
“The pleasing thing is we kept the clean sheet but it’s half an hour extra we could have done without because we ran miles on Saturday and we’ve run a few more tonight.
“We’ve been a bit fortunate but we’re in the next round and there is a nice tie to come now.”
