We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Newport County at Rodney Parade (3pm kick-off).
Ronnie Moore will hope to have Carl Magnay available again after a groin problem for this weekend’s opening game of 2016 at Newport County.
The summer signing has missed the last couple of games after being forced off during the FA Cup replay win over Salford City earlier in the month.
Mikael Mandron won’t be in contention though; the front man has picked up a groin strain which means he has returned to parent club Sunderland.
Jake Gray, Adam Jackson and Kal Naismith are all available for selection in what is scheduled to be the final game of their loan spells but Moore is hoping all three deals can be extended.
Michael Duckworth (stomach), Billy Paynter (Achilles) and Harry Worley (ankle) all remain sidelined.
Newport County boss John Sheridan is mulling over starts for midfield pair Nathan Ralph and Yan Klukowski after they both missed Monday’s defeat to league-leaders Plymouth Argyle.
Ralph was out with a cheekbone problem while Klukowski was sidelined by hamstring trouble but Sheridan hopes the pair will both return to contention this weekend.
However, Medy Elito definitely won’t be involved against Pools as he serves the second game of a three-game suspension after being sent-off at Barnet on Boxing Day.
