Iron Defender Joins Pools On Loan

20 August 2015

Ronnie Moore has moved to bolster his defensive options with the signing of Andrew Boyce on a one-month loan deal from Scunthorpe United.

The 25-year-old centre-back linked up with the players at the training ground on Thursday morning and completed the paperwork on his move at lunchtime.

With Harry Worley sidelined for at least two weeks with an ankle injury sustained at York City last weekend, Moore was keen to add another defender and Boyce fits the bill.

A former Doncaster Rovers trainee, he arrived at Scunthorpe in January 2014 following a successful stint on loan from Conference outfit Lincoln City.

Last term he spent the first month on loan at Grimsby Town before returning to Glanford Park to make 34 appearances as The Iron consolidated their position in League One.

"He's big and strong, and he has a lot of league games under his belt," Moore told Pools PlayerHD.

"We're just a little bit short in that area at the moment; Harry is going to be about a fortnight so I'm pleased Mark Robins and Scunthorpe have allowed Andrew to come here."

Boyce will go straight in to the squad for this weekend's game at Stevenage and had been given the number 26 shirt.
