Ronnie Moore was critical of his side’s defending during the 3-0 defeat at Luton Town and warned that it must improve in the final two games if they are stay out of the bottom two.
Moore’s men rallied after the break but by that point the damage was done and the Pools boss didn’t pull any punches when he offered his assessment after the final whistle.
“I thought it was a disgrace, defensively,” Moore told Pools Player.
“Every time they went forward I thought they were going to score and as a back four we were all over the place, particularly through the middle. You can’t defend like that.
“The position we’re in, you wouldn’t have thought it was such an important game, that’s the disappointing thing for me.
“We had a lot of the ball in the second half but we’re 2-0 down and we didn’t really look like we were going to score – crosses were coming in with nobody on the end of them.
“It’s such a massive game for us next week and it gives us a little chance. It’s three weeks in a row that everyone has lost now and it won’t be four, someone will win – we have to make sure it’s us.”
