Pools Reserves Team extended their unbeaten run to five games with a comfortable 2-0 victory over Doncaster Rovers at Billingham Town.
Scott Fenwick, back in action after missing the past seven weeks with an ankle injury, opened the scoring when he got on the end of a Jack Compton cross to poke home from close range after just 14 minutes of play.
And Ebby Nelson-Addy, who impressed again this evening, got the second just after the half-hour mark when he drove forward into the box before side footing past the Rovers keeper.
There were other chances in the first half for Jack Compton, Marvin Morgan and Darren Holden as Pools enjoyed a strong first half.
It was a quieter start to the second half from Sam Collins’ side and Jonathan Maxted was the busier of the keepers – pulling off a strong early block to deny the visitors a goal.
Jordan Richards saw his well-taken freekick pushed away by the visiting keeper before Scott Fenwick headed a chance wide from a Matthew Bates’ ball in.
Maxted pulled off another good save late in the game, this time to deny Harry Middleton, kept Rovers out and the game finished 2-0 to Pools.
With Scott Fenwick, Matthew Bates and Stuart Parnaby all playing the full 90 minutes on their returns from injury, Ronnie Moore has more options going into Saturday’s First Team game at York City.
