Hartlepool United have joined forces with McDonald’s to offer free fruit to kids at home games this season.
Under 16s sitting in the Family Enclosure will be able to take advantage of the offer by claiming free fruit from the Cheeky Monkey Kiosky simply by producing their match ticket or Season Ticket.
H’Angus the Monkey will also be dishing out free fruit ahead of kick-off in games as our link-up with McDonald’s reaps rewards for our young supporters.
Pools Chief Executive Russ Green is thrilled with the new partnership and hopes it can encourage more young supporters to eat more healthily – whether at the game or at home.
“We are always looking for ways to enhance the experience of coming to a game at The Vic, particularly for young fans,” he explained.
“As part of that we want to create a safe and wholesome environment so we’re delighted that McDonald’s have joined forces with us on this free fruit scheme.”
Local McDonald’s franchisee Mark Nutall added: “I’m delighted to link-up with Hartlepool United Football Club on this new initiative to put more fruit in the hands of young supporters.
“It can be tough as a parent to make eating the recommended five portions of fruit and veg a day fun for youngsters, so by adding to their experience at the match we hope it’s going to be well-received.”
