We take a look at the latest from both camps ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Carlisle United at Victoria Park (3pm kick-off).
Pools boss Colin Cooper is waiting on fitness reports for both Jack Compton and David Atkinson ahead of the weekend’s clash with Carlisle United at The Vic.
Compton was forced off with a calf and knee injury during the closing stages of the first half in last weekend’s 0-0 draw with Portsmouth and will have a scan today.
Cooper says that the winger is “touch and go” to be involved against The Cumbrians and will wait on the results of the scan before making a decision.
Meanwhile, on-loan Atkinson returned to parent club Middlesbrough for assessment after picking up a minor knock in training earlier in the week but could still recover in time to play some part on Saturday.
Stuart Parnaby continues to nurse a knee injury and will remain sidelined for the weekend.
Carlisle’s former Pools midfielder Antony Sweeney is hoping to shake off a shoulder injury in time for his return to Victoria Park after being forced off against Mansfield Town a fortnight ago.
New boss Keith Curle oversaw The Cumbrians’ first league win of the season last weekend against Tranmere Rovers so could opt to name an unchanged eleven for the trip to the north east.
