Sam Collins has told his players they need to be “bang at it” on Saturday when they welcome an in-form Luton Town side to Victoria Park.
The Hatters have won four in a row in the league to move up to fourth in the table and boss John Still is confident they can keep that run going in the north east.
However, Collins has revealed that his players have been training with high quality and a spring in their step this week following their excellent 2-1 win at Exeter City last weekend.
Now he wants them to take that in to Saturday’s game at The Vic and make sure they give their all to get the Pools faithful right behind them from the first whistle.
“From what we’ve seen in training you can definitely tell the confidence is back,” Collins told Pools Player.
“At this moment in time I feel like maybe we need to put some kind of lid on things and save some of it for Saturday because every one of them have been outstanding in training.
“We need to get the fans with us tomorrow – that means starting the game fast, playing in their half, getting shots and crosses off and putting Luton under pressure.
“I’ve seen it time and time again with our fans; when we’re bang at it, going at teams with tackles and blocks that’s what they want and that’s the message I’ve been giving the lads all week.”
