Pools have made a move to sign talented young midfielder Matt Crooks on a one-month loan deal from Huddersfield Town.
The 20-year-old is a versatile performer and can play anywhere across midfield or in attack but made his Terriers First Team debut at centre-back on the opening day of the current campaign.
Elegant on the ball and with an eye for goal, Crooks has come through the ranks with his hometown club after a brief stint at Manchester United in his early-teenage years.
His ability was nurtured at Town and he was included on the bench for a First Team game at the tender of age of 16 in November 2010 before going on to sign his first professional deal twelve months later.
Previously he’s gained senior experience with loan spells at non-league FC Halifax Town and Radcliffe Borough but he’s now keen to get some more regular Football League action under his belt.
Crooks’ loan move has been completed in time for him to link-up with his new team mates for this evening’s game at Accrington Stanley for which he’s been handed squad number 29.
