Let's Play With Some Swagger - Murray

31 October 2014

Paul Murray has demanded his players show the right attitude as they look to kick-start their home form against Newport County at Victoria Park on Saturday.

The new boss knows that improving on their record on home soil will be crucial if Pools are to claw themselves away from the foot of the League Two table.

And he’s told his players he expect them to embrace that challenge, starting on Saturday when he’s in the dugout at The Vic as Manager for the very first time.

“This is a new start, a fresh slate and some players will get their opportunity to impress again this weekend,” Murray told Pools Player.

“I’ve told the lads I want them to go out there with a bit of a swagger and bit of arrogance if you like - this is our home ground and we’ve got to do whatever it takes to defend it.

“We’ve got to give our fans something to shout about so we can’t show any fear, we have to think positively and go out there and win the game.

“I’m really looking forward to getting back to The Vic, I’ve already got fond memories of the place and hopefully we can create some more.”
