Duckworth Eyeing League Rollover

8 October 2014

Acrobatic Pools star Michael Duckworth has insisted that the squad must make sure the positives from Tuesday’s game are taken back in to their league performances.

The full-back was in sparkling form during the 2-1 Johnstone’s Paint Trophy defeat to Sheffield United and felt there were plenty of encouraging signs in the display.

“The result didn’t go our way but there were plenty of positives to take,” Duckworth told Pools Player after the game.

“We’ve got a long trip to Exeter this weekend so we will go there and do the same hopefully – we’ll plan right, prepare right and then go and do what we do.

“We have to be bright, give it 110% and be positive.”

Duckworth has regularly hinted at having a special goal celebration up his sleeve and he delighted the crowd when he performed a remarkable somersault after netting his first goal against The Blades on Tuesday.

“It’s something I’ve been able to do for years and I don’t even know how I learnt it or where I practiced – probably when I used to have a trampoline in my back garden!” he laughed.
