Pools’ players and coaching staff laid flowers on the Michael Maidens memorial bench at the Club’s training ground on Friday morning.
It is seven years on Sunday since Michael tragically died in a car accident and the players and staff were keen to pay their respects and show that the former player is still in their thoughts.
“Even though I wasn’t at the Football Club at the time I still remember it and I know it was a really sad time for everyone concerned,” Sam Collins commented.
“It’s important that we never forget days like this and we pay our respects in the right way; we’ve done it every year since I’ve been here and we did it again today.”
Pools fans are set to show their respects in the now traditional way this weekend when applause will ring out around Victoria Park during the 25th minute of our game against Luton Town.
