Paul Murray admitted his side threw away three points at York City came from a goal down to win 3-1 at Victoria Park on Saturday.
The Pools boss wasn’t impressed at the way his side began the game but insisted that some of the football they played at times gave him reasons for encouragement despite the defeat.
“We’re really disappointed because it’s three points thrown away,” Murray told Pools Player.
“I wasn’t happy with the way we started either half but we grew in to the game and played some of the best stuff I’ve seen from us to be honest in the first half and created some good chances.
“Various chances fell and you always worry when you don’t take them; we have to be clinical.
“I told the lads at half time that they couldn’t start the second half the way we had the first, but even then I didn’t for one minute think they would come out and score three.
“It will be difficult to pick the lads up after that but we’ll get the negatives out of the way and show them some of the things they did well and what they’re capable of.”
