Paul Murray said he was disappointed with the second half performance at Southend and called for more bravery on the ball from his players.
“I was a bit disappointed in the second half because although we showed some graft and spirit we didn’t show enough of it on the ball,” he told Pools Player.
“I’ve learnt today that we need bigger characters to get on the ball under pressure and go and grab the game by the scruff of the neck.
“The goal comes from an error from Nicky but it was sixty yards up the field and really from there we should stop them going on to score.
“There were some chances after that which I think we could have done better with but overall I am just disappointed with that second half.”
