HUCSF Female Football Development squad to take place in tournament.
The FA, Premier League and Football League Trust have joined forces to organise an Under 16 girls’ football festival which will be hosted at Wembley ahead of England Women v Germany on Sunday 23rd November.
This will be a historic day for the England Women’s team as they play their first official fixture at Wembley Stadium.
The festival will combine 5-a-side matches, where each club will play a minimum of 3 group games with a chance of progressing onto quarter, semi and finals.
There will also be a number of fun activities for the young girls to take part in when not playing which include a speed cage, target shoot and freestyle workshop giving the girls plenty to get involved in. Participants will also have the opportunity to meet WSL players.
Hartlepool United Community Sports Foundation staff Chris Burton and Vicki Hutchinson have been coaching football sessions through the Female Football Development Programme and are excited to be taking a selection of the players down to the festival at Wembley on Sunday.
It will not be the girls’ first taste of England Women’s football as they were lucky enough to be ball girls and flag bearers at the England Women vs Sweden game at Victoria Park in August this year.
The staff and players have an early start with the bus collecting them at 4am; we wish them the best of luck in the festival in the morning and hope they enjoy watching the Lionesses at Wembley Stadium in the afternoon.
