Murray Pleased To Get The Job Done

8 November 2014

Paul Murray said he was happy to see his side through to the Second Round of the FA Cup after negotiating a potential banana skin at home to East Thurrock United.

Two goal from Jonathan Franks ensured Pools progressed to the next stage at the expense of their Ryman Premier League visitors and the boss is looking forward to the draw.

“It’s job done, we’re through to the next round and we’ll be watching it on Monday night,” Murray told Pools Player.

“They had the better chance when they hit the post – I think Scott saved it so it was a great save but it was quite sloppy from ourselves.

“I asked the lads to try and score in the first twenty minutes and we had a couple of opportunities really but we had to keep plugging away and we got the goal in the end.

“Their Manager came in and he’s been brilliant after the game; he thanked us for our hospitality and I am sure they will go and enjoy themselves.

“To get a clean sheet and win the game makes me very happy and the main thing is we’re in the hat.”
