Paul Murray has moved to add a defender to his squad with the arrival of Matteo Lanzoni on loan from Cambridge United.
The Italian centre-back has linked up with his Pools team-mates for the first time today and will remain at Victoria Park until the end of December.
Lanzoni began his career with hometown club Como, before earning a move to Sampdoria when he was just 17 and he went on to spend five years on the books of the Italian giants.
His first move to England came with Oldham Athletic when he won a contract on the back of a successful trial last July, moving on to Yeovil in January before landing at Cambridge United in the summer.
Pools boss Murray was keen to bring the dominant defender to The Vic, particularly on the back of Scott Harrison’s return to Sunderland at the end of his loan spell.
Lanzoni has been handed squad number 24 and will go straight in to contention for Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two game against Wycombe Wanderers.
