Fans Were Our Twelfth Man - Walker

3 November 2014

Pools star Brad Walker has thanked the fans for helping to inspire the team to a dramatic comeback against Newport County on Saturday.

After seeing the team fall two goals down to an in-form Exiles outfit at The Vic, the emphasis and atmosphere changed once the visitors were reduced to ten men on 65 minutes.

Walker smashed Pools back in to contention with another stunning goal to add to his growing collection, before Michael Duckworth wriggled through to snatch an equaliser three minutes from time.

“The crowd played a massive part for us; they got right behind us because it can be hard to break down ten men,” the midfielder told Pools Player.

“I got the first goal and then fans were like our twelfth man, they really pushed us on and we could even have got the winner at the end.

“To get a point after being 2-0 down is good and I think that could be a massive turning point for us leading in to the game next week.”
