Another of the Club’s young players has committed his future to Pools after Dan Jones put pen to paper on a new contract at Victoria Park.
The 19-year-old defender hit back from injury to make his First Team debut for the Club last season when he came on as a substitute during the home game with Mansfield Town in March.
Comfortable at left-back or in the centre of defence, Jones impressed for the Youth Team during 2012/13 and as a result made a seamless step up in to Reserve Team football.
His performances impressed the Pools hierarchy and the Bishop Auckland born teenager was offered his first professional contract at The Vic last summer.
Jones has been a regular for the Reserves once again in the season just gone and Colin Cooper saw enough to offer the talented youngster a fresh deal.
“I’m delighted with the new deal,” he told Pools Player.
“I wasn’t sure if I was going to get a contract but now I have I can go out there and really enjoy my football and show what I can do.
“As soon as I made my debut last season I just wanted more so I want to come back for pre-season as fit as I can be, get really involved and hopefully get more chances in the First Team.”
