Cooper Hopes To Add New Faces

25 March 2014

Colin Cooper has revealed that he is hoping to close the deal on a couple of loan signings after seeing his squad depleted by injury during the defeat to Mansfield Town on Tuesday night.

Marlon Harewood (leg), Jack Compton (hamstring), Darren Holden (back) and Antony Sweeney (hamstring) were all forced off in the midweek fixture at Victoria Park.

The Pools boss admitted afterwards that the injuries could leave his squad a little stretched and said that he hopes to be able to make a move in to the loan market in the coming days.

“I’ve got a couple of things in place which I hope we can get completed,” Cooper commented.

“Obviously we’ll assess the injuries to the players over the next couple of days but I think it would be good if I could bring one or two in to help what we have.

“We’ll see what we can do in the next couple of days on that and also speak further with Manchester United to try and finalise an extension on Jack Barmby’s loan deal.”
