Pools fans were up at the crack of dawn on Wednesday morning to make their way to the Club Shop to snap up the brand new away shirt for the 2014/15 season.
The striking pink kit has proved a big hit since it was unveiled by Luke James and Brad Walker at the Club’s End of Season Awards Night in May.
And it looks set to be a good seller with supporters queuing outside the Club Shop awaiting their first chance to buy it at 9am this morning.
At the front of the queue was Danny Robbins and his son Alex, both of whom were so keen to own the shirt in time to wear at tonight’s friendly with Sunderland they arrived at the ground particularly early!
“We’ve been here since around 6.45am,” explained Danny, who is a Season Ticket holder with his son in the Family Enclosure.
“We usually get all three kits that come out every year and we even managed to get our hands on the poppy shirt last season too which is one of our favourites.
“The house is full of Pools stuff anyway so as soon as we knew the shirt was being released this morning we had to come down and get it.”
Danny and six-year-old Alex were rewarded for their long wait when they were handed the very first pink shirts and they even plan to pop back to the ground later to meet H’Angus in the Club Shop at 4pm.
“It’s a really nice shirt and I love the colour of it,” said Alex, whose favourite player is Marlon Harewood.
“Every time a new one comes out we always get them so I’m looking forward to wearing it to the match tonight – I think we’ll win 3-0!”
