Front man to seek new challenge after deciding to move on from Hartlepool United
James Poole has turned down the offer of a new contract at Victoria Park and will now move on to pastures new for the 2014/15 campaign.
The 24-year-old forward initially joined Pools on loan from Manchester City in October 2010 before making the move permanent the following summer.
During his time at The Vic, Poole made 113 appearances and scored 16 goals – often finding the net in spectacular fashion and his wonderful goal against Notts County in February 2013 was shortlisted for the Football League’s Goal of the Year.
“It just feels like the right time to move and try something new, but I’ll take with me some good memories of Hartlepool United,” Poole explained.
“I’ve enjoyed my time here; the fans have been brilliant with me and the team through some difficult times and it’s been a pleasure to play in front of them both home and away.
“I’ve made some great friends at the Club so I’ll continue to look out for the results and wish them all the best for the future, which I’m sure has a very good chance of being a bright one.”
