Cooper Remains Patient On Transfer Front

31 July 2014

Colin Cooper has told fans he is confident of strengthening the squad before the start of the new season but has admitted it’s a situation which requires a level of patience.

So far this summer the Pools boss has secured the signatures of Matthew Bates and Stuart Parnaby but he’s made no secret of his desire to further strengthen his hand prior to the big kick-off.

Cooper has revealed that he’s been working as hard as possible to push through deals for his transfer targets and has asked fans to remain patient as he goes about this work.

“We’re continuing to look, to monitor and to try and get things in place,” Cooper explained.

“I do understand the fans’ level of frustration about players but I would like to think by the time the season starts we will have three or four players through the door to strengthen us.

“I keep speaking to people on the phone and trying to accelerate things but the football world is a world which moves when it wants to move.

“Things will happen and accelerate by the end of this week and in to next week; it’s not an ideal scenario but I’m trying to remain less frustrated and more patient because I’m sure things will fall in to place.

“It’s maybe not the time frame we wanted but things will come together for us.”
