Neil Austin could be set to miss the trip to Northampton Town this weekend as a troublesome toe injury continues to frustrate the Pools full-back.
The 30-year-old was injured whilst making a goal-denying block during the second half of the recent 0-0 draw with Scunthorpe United and has subsequently missed the last three games.
Boss Colin Cooper has confirmed that he remains a doubt for Saturday but hopes that Austin can step up his recovery following the clash with The Cobblers.
Cooper must also assess some minor knocks sustained during Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at Southend, while he will need to decide whether to rotate his line-up after naming an unchanged eleven for the last three outings.
Town's new boss Chris Wilder has been dealt a blow with the news that he'll be without skipper Lee Collins for the rest of the season.
The centre-back suffered a foot injury during the second half of their defeat to Plymouth Argyle at the start of the month and it's now been confirmed he won't return this term.
