Michael Duckworth has been further examined by medical staff on Monday after being stretchered off during the early stages of the game at Northampton Town.
The full-back was just five minutes in to his playing comeback following double hernia surgery when he fell awkwardly as he challenged for the ball and he left the field after a lengthy stoppage for treatment.
Duckworth was taken to the local hospital where initial x-rays showed no fracture in his leg, but Pools medical staff wanted to make sure by conducting their own tests on Monday.
“Michael was checked over and x-rayed in Northampton and they confirmed there was no fracture," explained Head Physio Ian Gallagher.
“However, it’s always prudent to make absolutely certain in cases of this nature so we’re having the results of his x-ray looked over by our Radiologist Consultant.
“He’s in a protective boot and we’ll keep him in that until we have a full diagnosis at which point we can decide the best course of action to bring him back to full fitness.”
We'll have more information on Michael's injury as soon as details are confirmed by our medical staff.
