Trio Leave Pools After Deals Expire

31 December 2014

Joe Ironside, Matteo Lanzoni and Sidney Schmeltz have all now left Victoria Park after boss Ronnie Moore decided against extending the trio’s deals.

Ironside will return to parent club Sheffield United after appearing four times for Pools during his month on loan, scoring his first Football League goal in the 1-1 draw with Oxford United.

Lanzoni joined the Club last month on loan from Cambridge United but made only two appearances and has been an unused substitute in the last four games and has now gone back to The Abbey Stadium.

Schmeltz signed a short-term deal at The Vic at the end of October and went on to make seven appearances for the Club, three of them from the substitutes’ bench.

The Dutchman impressed most on his debut when his arrival in the second half helped inspire Pools to come back from two goals down to claim a point against Newport County.

The Club would like to thank all three players for their efforts and wish them every success in the future.
