New boss Ronnie Moore has promised Pools fans he will inject some fight in to the Club’s mission to get away from the bottom of the League Two table.
Moore arrived at Victoria Park for face the media on Wednesday morning and immediately afterwards headed for the training ground to meet the players for the first time.
And the 61-year-old – who was in the stands to watch Pools’ 4-0 defeat at Burton Albion on Saturday – admitted he was anxious to get right in among the players and get his points across.
“This is a fantastic opportunity for me and I can’t wait to get going, that’s for sure,” Moore told Pools Player.
“I’ve been out of it too long but I’ve never lost my appetite, my enthusiasm or my endeavour and I really can’t wait to get stuck in to the lads.
“I watched that game on Saturday and going towards half time I thought it was fantastic because there was nothing in it but then they went like a pack of cards.
“It was 4-0 but it could have been 7-0 and how I restrained myself from going in that dressing room at the end I will never know.
“I wanted to go in and tell them how much they had let everyone down – and I wasn’t even involved in the Club at that time, I was only there watching and hoping to be!
“Those feelings I have, I will let them know. They need that sick feeling in their stomachs when they lose and if we’re going to stay in this league then we have to show fight, and it’s been lacking.”
