We Didn't Do Enough Admits Cooper

16 August 2014

Colin Cooper admitted his frustration as Pools were left waiting for their first win of the season after being beaten 2-0 by Bury at Victoria Park on Saturday.

A goal in both halves helped The Shakers to a third successive win over Pools and Cooper was bitterly disappointed that his side gave their visitors a platform on which to build.

“I think if you give any team a start and something to hang on to then you’re up against it,” he told Pools Player.

“Whatever huffing and puffing we did between then and the second half, the second goal just knocked the stuffing out of us really.

“I think if you look at the half chances we just need to do a bit better; we had a couple of flurries but Bury get off and running while we remain frustrated.

“Football is all about decision-making and it’s something we’ve spoken about a lot – when we get in to good positions there had to be the right movement in the box and picking of a pass.

“We had Bury firmly on the back foot at times but we weren’t good enough to break them down.”
