Luke James has scooped an amazing Player of the Year double at the Club’s End of Season Awards Night at The Staincliffe Hotel.
The young Pools star was crowned as the Supporters’ and the Players’ Player of the Year after an excellent campaign during which he has smashed home sixteen goals.
Still only 19, James became the second-youngest Pools player since World War Two to hit double figures in a season with many of his strikes proving spectacular affairs.
The talented front man was a popular choice with the fans, claiming almost 70% of the votes during the period it was opened up to supporters.
It was a similar story when it came to the players’ vote with this season’s top scorer quickly emerging as a popular winner.
James was presented with the Supporters’ Player of the Year trophy by representatives of the Supporters’ Association at the Club’s sell-out event at The Staincliffe Hotel on Tuesday evening.
He was then handed his Players’ Player of the Year award by team-mates Antony Sweeney and Sam Collins on a night which belonged to the Amble-born youngster.
