Fans Enjoy 2013/14 Awards Night

30 April 2014

The Club’s End of Season Awards Night proved to be a huge success as a packed house enjoyed an excellent evening at the Staincliffe Hotel.

Luke James proved the big winner on the night as the 16-goal striker went home with both the Supporters’ and the Players’ Player of the Year accolades.

Brad Walker was named as Young Player of the Year after the 18-year-old’s breakthrough season saw him feature heavily on the First Team stage under Colin Cooper.

Away Player of the Year went to full-back Michael Duckworth, while the Community Player of the Year prize was won by James Poole.

The final award of the evening was Goal of the Season which was voted for by guests on the night after viewing a twelve-goal video shortlist on the big screen and went to Brad Walker for his screamer at Southend United.

Both Chairman Ken Hodcroft and boss Colin Cooper gave their thoughts on the season on a night excellently hosted by former Premier League referee Jeff Winter.

Fans were surprised at the end of the night when the Club unveiled their new kits for 2014/15 – blue and white stripes to be worn at home and a striking pink and black number on the road!

The Club would like to thank everyone who attended the Awards and congratulate all the winners.
