Matty Dolan has insisted that Pools have the character to come back after seeing their winning run come to an end at Scunthorpe United on Saturday.
Colin Cooper’s men went in to the game on the back of five consecutive victories but Sam Winnall’s goal fifteen minutes from time decided the closely-fought encounter at Glanford Park.
But rather than feeling sorry for themselves, Dolan – who last week extended his loan deal at The Vic – is certain that Pools will react positively when they return to action on Saturday.
“Everybody is disappointed but the gaffer had a word with us and told us not to get too disheartened,” Dolan told Pools Player.
“Obviously it’s disappointing that the run has come to an end but it’s all about bouncing back now so we’ll have a good week in training and show Dagenham what we can do next week.
“With going on the run and then losing, I think everyone will look at what we do now and whether we slump back in to our old ways from last season.
“But I can’t see that happening because the gaffer will rally us and we’ll be right back on it next week and I can’t wait to get out there again.”
