We get the latest news from our South East Supporters' branch.
The small number of SEP members that travelled down to Exeter last Saturday experienced lower division hospitality at its best. Exeter City FC and their supporters were a credit to football. Not only did they offer a warm and friendly welcome, but after the game the biggest issue was getting back to the car due to the amount that wanted to stop you, shake your hand and congratulate us on a fantastic performance from the team.
Having travelled to SJP on previous occasions, I must say that this attitude is normal for the club. It makes the effort worth while, as did the result and team performance of course. The day was topped off for Andy Fear and a few other star struck Poolies when German Comedian, Henning When, joined the away fans and posed for a few pictures!
Speaking of good fans, I had a great chat with Tony from the Gateshead Supporters Club at the weekend to make arrangements for us offering them support at Dartford on November 23rd. They are a good bunch who love nothing more than a good drink and some football. They were very complimentary about our club and the fans after the way we looked after them last season. Hopefully we will bring them a bit of luck at the game. Full details of the event will be on the website in the coming weeks. If you are free that day, get yourself along as it promises to be a great day.
Planning ahead, the annual trip this year will be for the Chesterfield game in April. Once again we will be allowing payment in stages over several months. We will be discussing the trip at our meeting prior to the Dartford game. As usual the earlier we get it all booked the cheaper the deal we get with Grand Central and the Premier Inn.
